For this first volume, we involved several orthopaedic surgeons who are particularly dedicated to the prosthetic field and are certainly capable of fulfilling the task of writing the individual chapters of the book, despite adding to their already heavy daily workload.
From reading the chapters of this first volume, one can take pride and satisfaction in the exceptional skill demonstrated by our colleagues, the high technical-scientific level expressed, the clinical cases presented, and the illustrative imagery provided.

As Editors, our aim is to consolidate scientific experiences and once again highlight the exceptional surgical expertise expressed in Italy by both university programs and hospitalbased specialist centres.
